Want the Facts Wed (WTF) - Dyeing Carpet Edition

There are many ways to use fabric dye that go off-label. Once you know the basics about mixing the dye powder with hot water you are free to start experimenting with colour.

Some materials aren't going to have the best results; Tintex is not suitable for Carpet, so...use caution. If you can't rinse the remaining dye off, the carpet could look good but it will not be resistant to color transfer later. Some people have been able to renew auto carpets, but due to colour transfer issues we do not recommend this practice.

Never fear...our all-purpose fabric dye will renew or change the colour of most washable fabrics: Cotton, Linen, Silk, Nylon, Acetate, Rayon, Wool, Spandex® and Viscose.  Use 140°F water when possible for the best results and note the laundering restrictions associated with certain fabrics.
